(KSNB) - An Aurora man will be sentenced in September in connection with a car pedestrian fatal car accident. Fifty-year-old Phillip Wiles was convicted of misdemeanor attempted motor vehicle homicide. Wiles’ vehicle struck and killed 31-year-old Alex Sohl of Philips in March 2022 on Highway 34 about five miles east of Grand Island. Later prosecutors dropped a motor vehicle homicide charge in exchange for Wiles’ no contest plea to attempted motor vehicle homicide. Court records show Wiles will be sentenced September 7.
