Autonomous trucking firm Fernride is working with terminal tractor manufacturer Terberg to bring automated yard tractors to series production. The end result will be a terminal tractor that can be teleoperated or autonomously operated with the end result being a transition to full autonomy. Series production will begin next year, the companies announced. Fernride will provide the management software suite allowing the trucks to be integrated into existing yard and terminal operating systems. “We are delighted to bring our autonomous technology to the market with the European leader for terminal tractors,” said Hendrik Kramer, CEO of Fernride.
