TechCrunch is excited to announce that Urmson and Iagnemma will join us in the virtual phase of the TC Sessions: Mobility 2021. Urmson has been operating on autonomous vehicles for more than 15 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1998 and a doctorate in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in 2005. He left Carnegie Mellon University and was a founding member of the Google Autonomous Driving Program, where he served as its technical director. In 2013 Iagnemma co-founded nuTonomy to start autonomous vehicles, one of the first to launch pilots for a taxi stand.
