A Reddit user spotted this store sign at Bunnings’ new store in Preston, Melbourne. However while the reference to facial recognition technology has been included on old and new signage in stores, the mention of “number plate recognition technology” in a new addition. Photos of store signage in circulation last July made no mention of number plate recognition software, however the new notice states that it is in use. The sign stated that ‘number plate recognition technology’ was in use at Bunnings. An old store sign, seen in July 2022, makes no reference to number plate recognition technology.
