A statement was read out from Spellacey’s victim revealed he had suffered “anxiety and paranoia” since the attack. I’m now doing things like triple-checking the locks on my windows and doors are secure.”The brawl happened when the victim went to the defendant’s house after drinking in a Basildon pub with his work friends. The victim left at around 10.30pm and was stumbling when walking away from Spellacey’s house. Evidence from CCTV footage showed Spellacey holding a shovel, walking towards the victim. A grapple followed, with Spellacey punching his victim in the head causing him to fall, and then punching him three more times in the head.
