Chinese self-driving car startup Pony.ai Received permission from the California Automobile Authority Test self-driving cars not driven by human safety drivers on designated streets in three cities. Pony has been allowed to test self-driving cars with safe drivers in California since 2017, but the new permit tests six self-driving cars without safe drivers on certain streets in Fremont, Alameda County. The first test will take place on weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm in Fremont and Milpitas.
