The far-left lane will be transformed into a connected and automated vehicle testing lane, and the project is called the CAV corridor pilot project. This high-tech lane project is made possible through a public-private partnership between Cavnue, a mobility company that aims to create safer roads for connected and automated vehicle technology, and MDOT. It will be Michigan’s first CAV testing lane. Starting Tuesday at 7 a.m., there will be a continuous left lane closure from Belleville to Rawsonville roads until late November, said Morosi. Even though testing will take place in the left lane, all drivers will still be able to utilize the lane.
