The app has been developed by Transport for London (TfL) and KeolisAmey Docklands (the DLR's operator), in partnership with GoMedia and The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). It has been specially designed so that blind and partially-sighted people can find and access information and interact with their environment, especially in busy areas such as railway stations. Once the smart codes have been scanned using the NaviLens app, the app's voice assistant will help users to continue their journey. The NaviLens app has the capability to transmit the information contained in the smart codes in augmented reality in 33 different languages. In its pursuit of innovation, Transport for London is working with KeolisAmey Docklands to use the Docklands Light Railway as a test centre to help it improve customer experience and decarbonisation across its network.
