Autonomous Trucks
THERE is plenty of excitement in the two headquarters of Pony.ai – a Chinese-owned autonomous driving company – in Guangzhou, China and Fremont, California, in the United States. Most recently, we fully updated our Robotaxi service and rolled out the first standardised autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet. The concept of L2 was first proposed seven or eight years ago when we were in a completely different stage of technology development. From a technical point of view, China is keeping abreast of the world in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving, although a little later. Overall, China and the world are moving forward together in terms of laws and regulations, technology development, and talent pool.
