The plan was unveiled in 2006 and the first model, the Roadster sports car, rolled out in 2008 at a price of $89,000. Musk had first estimated in 2015 that Tesla vehicles would be able to drive themselves by 2018. But Tesla is yet to unveil a detailed plan for its ride-sharing and robotaxi services.
