Ford explained that in late 2021 and 2022, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) informed it about reports of a blue image in the rear-view camera display – this warning was raised after Ford had just completed an earlier recall in 2021. There were reports of 17 minor crashes related to the issue, and over 2,100 warranty reports, but no reports of injuries. “Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.”The recall affects some 382,000 vehicles in the US, Reuters reported. Meanwhile, Transport Canada stated that the recall affects 39,674 vehicles in Canada. Ford will notify owners of the affected vehicles by mail and instruct them to take their vehicles to a dealer to update their vehicles’ image processing module (IPMB) software.
