Autonomous Trucks
An IVECO S-Way equipped with PlusDrive, Plus’ optimized driver assistance solution based on the company’s open autonomous driving platform, has started operating on German public roads. Furthermore, TÜV SÜD tested the functional safety of the solution for trials on public roads. The collection of a large amount of real data during this crucial phase will make possible the industrialization of the self-driving truck with driver. The experimentation on public roads in Germany will continue over the next few months, and then expand to Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland in order to collect real data on different types of roads and in various driving conditions.
