Lucid Introduces $7,500 “Tax Credit”

The new EV tax credit rules are confusing, as requirements on raw materials sourcing and final assembly locations limit the number of eligible vehicles. Lucid announced a $7,500 credit on some of its models purchased before March 31, 2023. The Lucid Air Touring and Grand Touring are included in the deal, which have starting prices of $107,400 and $138,000, respectively. Those sky-high MSRPs put both well out of range for an EV tax credit, which is limited to cars under $55,000. Though expensive, even the least costly Lucid Air variants sport impressive specs.
