Autonomous Trucks
A truly autonomous car is one that can travel from point to point without the need for driver intervention. Mercedes Chief Technology Officer Markus Schäfer recently told Automotive News that Level 4 autonomy is "doable" by 2030. A Level 1 vehicle has a single feature, such as cruise control, to manage its speed. While a Level 3 system is more capable than the Level 2 systems common today, it still requires a human driver to be ready to take over when necessary. They don't require a human driver to remain engaged and ready to take over.
