Retail sales of new passenger vehicles industrywide in the first 16 days of July were unchanged from the year-earlier level, the China Automobile Dealers Association said on Wednesday. In the 16-day period, some 686,000 sedans, crossovers, SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles were sold across China, according to the trade group’s tally. By contrast, deliveries of electrified vehicles including full electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids maintained growth, gaining 7 percent to roughly 267,000 in the period. As of June 16, the overall new-car market expanded three percent from a year to 10.21 million, while electrified-vehicle deliveries spiked 34 percent to 3.35 million.
