Ohio and Indiana have agreed to conduct tests of partially automated trucks on a 166-mile section of Interstate 70 between Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis. However, there are mixed reactions among those in the trucking industry regarding automated or autonomous vehicles. Ohio has previously conducted tests for automated vehicles. Additionally, DriveOhio announced earlier this year that “automated vehicles” would be seen on rural roads in central and southeast Ohio. The use of automated vehicle technology is seen as revolutionizing the transportation industry and transforming the movement of goods and people.
