On an iPhone: Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services. On an Android phone: Go to Settings > Google > Location. Here you can toggle location off altogether or select "App access to location" to choose when, if ever, individual apps can access location. However, you can use your phone's privacy settings to help put a stop to it.
