Subaru has issued a recall for more than 8,000 2019-2022 Crosstrek Hybrid vehicles because a wiring harness connected to the 12-volt battery can rust and break, causing a loss of power. In documents filed with federal safety regulators, Subaru explains that exposure to common road salts can corrode the battery cable. The issue only affects Crosstrek Hybrid models built before last April because the automaker introduced a new battery mounting bracket that protects the wiring harness at that time.
