Autonomous Trucks
ASI Mining and Epiroc have secured an order from Roy Hill Iron Ore to automate 18 Hitachi EH4000 haul trucks. Once the conversion is complete, Roy Hill will have a total of 96 autonomous haul trucks, making it the largest single autonomous haulage system (AHS) site globally. It is expected that all 96 trucks at Roy Hill will be equipped with autonomous technology by the end of 2024. During this time, Roy Hill has achieved its performance targets using a smaller fleet of 793F and EH5000 haul trucks. With this automation project, Roy Hill aims to improve efficiency and productivity in its mining operations while also enhancing safety.
