Sales of new cars in Germany rebounded in February after a weak start to the year, official figures showed Friday, helped by strong demand for SUVs . A total of 206,210 new cars hit the road in Europe's top economy last month, up 2.8 percent on a year earlier, according to the KBA federal transport authority. For the full year, Fuss expects new car sales to see single-digit percentage growth, as ongoing logistical challenges and high inflation weigh on demand. "At the moment, the industry is still working off the comfortable cushion of orders from last year," he said. "But the weak economy and declining purchasing power will make private and commercial customers cautious this year and lead to a drop in new orders."
