Tesla enables facial recognition technology on Model 3 and Model Y vehicles to ensure that the driver is sitting in his seat and looking at the road when using the vehicle’s advanced driver assistance system. Tesla has been criticized for not using this technology after several reports of drivers riding in passenger and rear seats with no one behind them surfaced.
