How vehicle data is accessed and used is changing rapidly. That’s not hyperbole–just look at the integration partnerships truck OEMs are announcing that aim to reduce the number of devices on the trucks. “The future of telematics is working with the OEM,” said Neil Cawse, chief executive officer, Geotab, during his keynote address at Geotab Connect. “The device is the way we connect to the data, but the focus is on how you use the data. We’re working with more than 40 OEMs to integrate data and allow mobility solutions like keyless entry.”Cawse name-dropped PACCAR and Cummins as examples of what companies Geotab is working with.
