TuSimple Faces Challenges, Files Late Financial Documents

TuSimple, an autonomous truck software developer, recently filed its third-quarter 2022 financial report after facing the threat of delisting from the exchange. TuSimple posted $2.66 million in revenue from July-September 2021 but incurred costs of $5.43 million, resulting in a loss of $2.78 million. TuSimple recently announced a new technology called CyberMap, which allows its trucks to provide real-time updates about roadway abnormalities on the TuSimple Autonomous Freight Network (AFN). According to Shaun Twomey, director of Americas strategy and market and sales at ZF Group, the expectations for autonomous driving progression have slowed in recent years. Overall, TuSimple’s late financial filings reveal the challenges it faces in the autonomous trucking industry.
