Warrant: Bullet shells linked to deadly Lubbock shooting found in car after chase

The warrant charges 20-year-old Leo Contreras with evading with a motor vehicle. The warrant states homicide investigators were on 53rd Street watching a black vehicle they believed was used in the shooting. The vehicle crashed into a pole in the 400 block of 38th Street and Contreras was not found. According to the warrant, an initial search of the vehicle yielded spent .40 caliber shell casings, Contreras' cellphone and Texas ID. Meanwhile, investigators traced the vehicle to a relative of Contreras who lived in the 400 block of 39th Street.
