with a new cabless, autonomous and battery electric concept truck it is calling the XDR80TE-AT.\nThe truck is also all electric equipped with a 500 kW/h battery.\nXCMG says the mine production plan dictates the truck’s destination and it performs its autonomous route planning automatically.\nManagement of the mining trucks is via the control centre with staff able to access complete mine operational details via the system software.\nXCMG certainly has the financial resources to make it happen – whether it can succeed with this new concept in a real mine and in a real mining fleet technology might be advancing forward, but everything else (like regulations) to make drone delivery in cities and suburbs a reality is moving much, much slower.\nSupply chain automation has become a top priority for third-party logistics providers (3PLs), retailers, and manufacturers to address business-critical logistics challenges.\nInventory management is a prime use case for automation: manual inventory scanning is costly and laborious, and errors frequently lead to lost productivity and sales.\nI’ll be speaking on “Warehouse Robots: What We’ve Learned,” where I’ll share some trucks that shuttle goods between fulfillment centers, warehouses and drop-off locations.\nAlthough specialized autonomous vehicles already have been hauling materials for many years at some large mines across the globe, Pronto sees an opportunity to deploy autonomous trucks more broadly throughout the mining industry, especially at smaller sites, said Ognen Stojanovski, Pronto’s chief operating officer.\n“We’re signing contracts and getting paid for moving dirt every day,” said Stojanovski, who co-founded Pronto alongside autonomous vehicle pioneer Anthony Levandowski.\nPronto also
