DEARBORN: Ford ’s new Power Up for the global market is a software update technology that will ensure regular updates to the car’s infotainment system.The first of these updates were made available on the F-150 and Mustang Mach-E vehicles back in March.New Ford vehicles equipped with this can identify the preferences of the customers and can help Ford engineers be aware of any vehicle issues that may arise.“Software updates are common across billions of connected devices but not yet for vehicles.\nFord Power-Up software updates will change that by quickly bringing it to millions of people,” says Alex Purdy, director, business operations, enterprise connectivity, Ford Motor Company “We’ve invested in more seamless technology so updates can happen while you’re sleeping – making your next ride a better experience” he added.The system will deliver regular vehicle enhancements to Ford owners.\nThe vehicles will always be connected and continuous improvements and quality updates will be made available.\nThese are in turn expected to bring new features and capabilities: Ford will produce 33 million vehicles with the new Power-Up capability by 2028.
