1100W PFC module boosts power density in a half-brick form factor

ADVANCED ENERGY INDUSTRIES AIH03ZPFC 1100W board-mounted power factor correction (PFC) module comes in a half-brick form factor. Device is designed for applications in industrial, medical, defense and telecommunications systems where size, thermal performance and efficiency are critical. Featuring a regulated, non-isolated 390VDC output, module delivers up to 97.3% peak efficiency — a 2.3% improvement over the company’s previous-generation PFCs — and increases power density by 44% to 380 W/in³. The module includes features not typically associated with half-brick designs, such as internal inrush limiting and digital PMBus control and monitoring. Auxiliary power support enables external housekeeping functions while maintaining a compact footprint, allowing further miniaturization of customer power systems.
