Arrow McLaren has added another technology-focused partner to its growing roster, announcing a multi-year agreement with autonomous trucking company Aurora Innovation. The partnership brings together two organizations built around performance, innovation and engineering excellence, linking one of INDYCAR’s premier teams with a company helping shape the future of commercial transportation. Aurora became the first company to launch a commercial self-driving service using heavy-duty trucks on public roads and recently unveiled its second-generation driverless truck platform. The company is focused on expanding its autonomous freight operations throughout the Sun Belt as it works to address challenges facing the trucking industry, including driver shortages, rising operating costs and increasing freight demand. “We’re excited to welcome Aurora to our team,” said Arrow McLaren President Kevin Thimjon. “This partnership is a natural fit, as both of our organizations understand the value of innovation, safety and reliability.” The collaboration will debut publicly during the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race weekend at Portland International Raceway, where Aurora branding will appear on Arrow McLaren team apparel.
