Aurora Innovation valued at $12.5B on $2M revenue, betting on 200 driverless trucks

Aurora Innovation trades at $6.30 per share with a $12.5 billion market value, despite generating only $2 million in Q2 2026 revenue. The company's valuation hinges on its Aurora Driver self-driving system for Class 8 trucks.
Aurora operated approximately 25 trucks in July 2026 and plans to reach 200 by year-end. Management expects these 200 trucks to generate an $80 million annual revenue run rate, or roughly $400,000 per truck.
The company doesn't build its own trucks. Roush upfits them at a dedicated facility, targeting 1,000 trucks annually by October 2026. Volvo Autonomous Solutions plans to begin driverless operations in Q1 2027.
Aurora burned about $225 million in operating cash and $31 million in capital expenditure during Q2 2026. Management expects quarterly cash usage of $190 million to $220 million in 2026, against nearly $1.2 billion in cash reserves.
