The company recently completed its first fully humanless commercial load on a public highway. New Leadership with Deep Freight Experience Brett Suma has joined Bot Auto as president and chief operating officer. He brings with him David Stemm as vice president of commercial operations and Jessica Kane as vice president of commercial finance. The three executives previously founded TrailerHawk.ai together before Wabash acquired that company in 2025. They are now reuniting at Bot Auto to focus on transforming a technological achievement into a repeatable commercial operation. Dr. Xiaodi Hou, founder and CEO of Bot Auto, commented that while the company has demonstrated that humanless commercial truckloads are possible, technology alone cannot create value. He noted that the industry is complex for valid reasons and that building a scalable autonomous freight product requires humility, flexibility, and relentless creativity. A Formulaic Network Strategy Suma began his freight education at age 19, working nights at Knight Transportation to fund his college education. From 1999 through the company's rapid growth period in the early 2000s, he observed the founders building a methodical freight network to support their expanding fleet. The process involved identifying corridors with appropriate freight density, matching them to driver populations, and then constructing facilities to support 125 to 150 trucks per market.
