The system would feature battery-powered AI vehicles traveling on dedicated guideways, bypassing traffic on major roads such as Okeechobee and Belvedere. “All those trips are independent of each other. They're direct, and using a vehicle that's going to feel a lot more like your personal vehicle than a typical bus or a train,” said Brian Gettinger of Glydways. At Palm Beach International Airport, passengers shared mixed opinions about the plan. While some supported the idea, others expressed concerns about the vehicles being controlled by AI rather than a human driver. Glydways acknowledged that skepticism about driverless vehicles is common but stressed that their system differs from self-driving cars on public roads. The vehicles would operate on dedicated guideways with a central control system managing their movements to reduce issues typically seen with road-based autonomous cars. “Those vehicles, the system is controlling the vehicle movements.
