(Aaron Rosenblatt/Daily Republic) SUISUN CITY — Fixing the city's IT network, following a cyberattack will not be quick, City Manager Bret Prebula said at an early morning City Council meeting on Tuesday. He estimated, hopefully, it would be all "systems go" around Halloween. In the interim, City Hall is closed for the remainder of the week as employees work from home so they can access the Cloud. There is no conclusion, yet, Prebula said, whether personal information of Suisun City residents is at risk. At roughly 5:45 a.m. Friday, malicious software infected and compromised Suisun City IT systems. The cybersecurity incident hit critical public safety operations, including 911 routing, police and fire dispatch, records and city services. To contain the threat and preserve evidence for a federal investigation, the city shut down its entire IT network. The city activated its Emergency Operations Center and is working alongside federal, state and regional agencies, including the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and California Office of Emergency Services to maintain emergency services, investigate the incident and restore systems.
