Coherence Quantum, an Espoo-based startup spun out of Aalto University, has raised €2.78 million in seed funding to develop technology that makes controlling quantum computers easier as they scale.

Quantum processors sit inside refrigerators cooled close to absolute zero, with cables carrying control signals to each qubit.

Coherence Quantum builds well-thermalised filters and attenuators that cut the heat generated when those qubits are manipulated.

A US federal quantum plan in May flagged cryogenic integration and control hardware among its priorities.

Coherence Quantum is an early bet on the enabling technology.
