Coupang Eats has begun developing technology that automatically reads unit numbers and product details in "delivery completed" photos and cross-checks them against delivery drivers' location data to determine whether an order was misdelivered.
According to reporting by The Seoul Economic Daily on the 11th, Coupang Eats is developing and moving to commercialize technology that uses delivery completion photos together with drivers' location data to identify misdeliveries.
Combined with the driver's GPS location data, the system confirms whether the actual delivery location matches the order address.
Coupang Eats has also added a safeguard at the photo-taking stage.
Coupang Eats believes the cross-verification of delivery completion will also make it easier to assign responsibility in cases such as misdeliveries.
