The third project is the International Smart City Exposition and Networking Engagement (iScene), born from Mayor JC’s intention to bring “good practices” from around the world to share with other cities.
Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and KMITL have been involved from the very beginning, helping design and shape iScene itself while also serving as a mentor for developing the city’s Innovation Ecosystem.
The city also challenges its younger generation with the question: “If you were mayor, what application or approach would you build to solve the city’s problems?”
This present-day effort to build mutual understanding has itself become the crucial foundation driving the blueprint for the next ten years.
The most important lesson from Cauayan is not the sophistication of its technology, but “political will” and “policy continuity.”
