What's the deal? DefendEye, a developer of fully autonomous drone systems, announced in August 2026 that it had closed an investment round led by NovaCapital. The amount was not disclosed. The syndicate also includes ff Venture Capital, Hard2beat, Sunfish Partners and In-Q-Tel.
Why now? The capital will support DefendEye's production scale-up and international growth. Its flagship Overwatch Drone is designed to provide autonomous aerial intelligence for first responders, with manufacturing operations in Krakow, Poland and Hallandale Beach, Florida. CEO and co-founder James Buchheim said the investment will help bring the system to market.
