Delhi Leg of Formula 1 Sim Racing India Draws Over 3,000 Participants Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited (MFRL) concluded the Delhi leg of the F1® Sim Racing India Open 2026 Time Trials at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, after attracting more than 3,000 participants over three days, underlining the rising popularity of Formula 1® and sim racing in India. The event was attended by Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Raksha Khadse, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, who endorsed initiatives aimed at identifying and developing Indian motorsport talent for global competition. A total of 940 drivers earned a place on the official qualification leaderboard after competing on professional Formula 1® simulators. Shivansh De Bejoy, 16, topped the standings with a fastest lap of 1:20.755 around the Monza circuit. Eleven-year-old Aarav Gupta emerged as one of the biggest highlights, finishing 10th overall with a time of 1:21.674, less than a second behind the quickest lap of the event. Six Junior category drivers also secured places among the overall top 20, reflecting the depth of young talent on display. "Motorsport is evolving, and so is the way champions are built. More than just gaming, sim racing is a highly realistic virtual motorsport used by professional racing teams and drivers for training, while also serving as a global esports platform. This is a perfect example of how sport and technology are coming together to shape the future," said Raksha Khadse. MFRL Managing Director Ameet Gadhoke said the strong response from Delhi and support from policymakers reinforced the company's belief that India has the potential to produce world-class racing talent.
