Einride and Ease Logistics have deployed two SAE Level 4 autonomous electric trucks into proof-of-concept freight operations in Marysville, Ohio. The rollout extends the Truck Automation Corridor Project, led by the Ohio Department of Transportation, DriveOhio and the Indiana Department of Transportation, with service starting this summer. The cab-less, self-driving trucks operate without an onboard driver, with a remote operator monitoring the units and able to intervene if needed. Operations will run on Ease property and local public roads, generating data on warehousing, distribution and freight efficiency impacts. The deployment marks Ease Logistics’ third autonomous trucking trial with DriveOhio, building on prior pilots in Ohio. The company is among a small group of US logistics providers running multiple autonomous freight platforms in live operational environments.
