The future of Formula 1's official Sim Racing championship is in doubt after multiple teams decided to withdraw from the competition.

Specialist publication Traxion said it had independently verified that several Formula 1 teams were leaving the series.

McLaren and Williams were named in the original report, along with three other teams, although neither Formula 1 nor the teams have publicly confirmed the broader claims.

Claims that Formula One Management is seeking to sell the operation remain unverified and should be treated separately from the confirmed team withdrawals.

Formula 1 and the teams were contacted for comment, but no detailed public explanation has yet emerged.
