Tesla is at it again. A few months ago, the official X account encouraged blind drivers and elderly drivers to use Full Self-Driving mode, sharing stories of people who claimed they would otherwise not be allowed on the road without it. Now, Tesla has shared the story of a man born without arms. The X post, which appeared on Tesla’s account, was written by a man going by John F. He said he was born without arms and has been driving with his feet since he got his license. He said: “I’m a fully licensed driver, and traditionally I drove with my left foot on the steering wheel and my right foot handling the gas and brake. My only legal restrictions are automatic transmission and power steering.” It would seem like an inspiring story. However, John F. added that his birth defects have led to severe arthritis in his hips. He explained that his new Model Y with Full Self-Driving mode has been a “game-changer” for him, reducing the physical pressure and fatigue of driving. He added that FSD gave him his freedom back. The same story of the man with failing eyesight who was sold a Cybertruck. And the elderly lady who was encouraged to use FSD since she’s too frail and slow to drive.
