Former Anmore Elementary PAC treasurer faces charges for fraud and theft Approximately 10 months after the Anmore PAC reported “significant financial discrepancies” in their bank accounts, B.C. Prosecution Service has approved three charges against the organization’s former treasurer. Ryan Kohler of Anmore is facing one charge of fraud over $5,000 and two charges of theft. The alleged offences occurred between October 2024 and May 2025, according to a release from Coquitlam RCMP. Kohler worked as treasurer of the Anmore Elementary PAC during the 2024/25 school year, according to a message from the PAC. Local news that matters to you No one covers the Tri-Cities like we do. But we need your help to keep our community journalism sustainable. “The culmination of the detailed Coquitlam RCMP investigation into alleged criminal actions resulted in these charges being laid,” stated Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. John Graham in a release. “We understand allegations of this nature are concerning, but we have confidence in the judicial process that is now underway.” More than $20,000 was taken from PAC accounts, according to a statement from the Anmore PAC’s current and previous chair, as well as the current treasurer. “We are hopeful the charges will result in restitution of funds to the Anmore PAC so that we are able to continue to support our children’s education and school,” the release stated. The PAC members thanked Coquitlam RCMP for pursuing the investigation. None of the charges have been proven in court.
