The group sells cars under three brands: Geely, Zeekr and Lynk & Co. Its parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding, also owns Volvo Cars, Polestar and Lotus, so Geely cars have been on Canadian roads for years.

Those are the obvious candidates, but Geely Auto Canada won’t confirm anything yet.

Geely’s 2027 timeline means its first cars will most likely come in under the second quota year.

Washington’s rule on Chinese connected-vehicle technology has already shut Geely-owned Polestar out of the US market, and a Chinese brand selling Chinese-built cars has no path there.

Geely needs dealers before it needs cars, and the best dealer groups in Canada are being courted by Chinese automakers right now.
