Gemini can now use your emails and photos to answer questions in Android Auto

Google is rolling Personal Intelligence into Android Auto so Gemini can answer questions using information from apps you choose to connect.

Cars with Google built-in are due to receive Personal Intelligence in the coming months, so the two in-car platforms are on different schedules even though Gemini itself is available on both.

Connected apps supply context without another long spoken explanation With permission, the feature can draw on Google Workspace, including Gmail and Calendar, as well as Photos, Maps, YouTube and Search.

Google says apps are not linked until users enable Personal Intelligence, and the feature can be switched off through Gemini settings.

In Android Auto, the immediate change centres on connected personal information and voice requests.
