In a statement emailed to CNBC, General Motors stated that it is transforming its information technology organisation to better align with future business priorities and informed that the decision to eliminate certain roles globally was part of this restructuring, while adding that affected employees would be supported through the transition. The latest move comes as the automaker balances significant investments in next-generation technologies with increasing pressure to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
