Polyphony Digital announced today that MOZA Racing has officially joined the Gran Turismo World Series as one of its newest official peripheral partners. Founded in 2012 by automotive engineers and simulation enthusiasts, MOZA Racing has become one of the leading names in sim racing hardware. Its lineup includes direct-drive wheel bases, steering wheels, Active Pedals, shifters, motion systems and other racing peripherals. As part of the new partnership, the company is working with Polyphony Digital on a Gran Turismo-branded steering wheel controller that will feature native support for Gran Turismo 7. MOZA Racing CEO Chenyong Guan called the partnership a major milestone for the company, saying Gran Turismo has inspired generations of racing fans and that the team is excited to help bring new experiences to players through the collaboration. Gran Turismo series producer Kazunori Yamauchi said he first became familiar with MOZA through its camera stabilization gimbals, noting that the same precision motor technology behind those products is also used in force feedback steering systems. He said he has long admired the company’s engineering and believes the partnership creates new opportunities to build a steering wheel designed specifically for the Gran Turismo experience.
