Rockstar’s new GTA VI Extended Look shows much more than another collection of street races, revealing a dedicated racing circuit, competition-prepared cars and structured events alongside street and off-road racing. GTA VI appears ready to give racing a considerably bigger role than previous Grand Theft Auto games. Rockstar’s Extended Look, released on August 27, provides the clearest official evidence yet, showing a genuine wheel-to-wheel race taking place on a permanent asphalt circuit rather than another point-to-point event on public roads. The footage was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, according to Rockstar. During the circuit sequence, the player competes against a full group of race-prepared cars while a dedicated interface displays race position, lap information and timing, with other competitors also visible around the circuit on the minimap. What makes the sequence particularly interesting is the presentation of the cars themselves. Several appear prepared specifically for competition, carrying large rear wings, racing liveries and sponsor-style graphics rather than simply being modified road cars gathered for an informal street event. That does not make GTA VI a racing simulator, nor does it confirm professional championships, qualifying sessions, pit stops or racing regulations. Rockstar has not detailed any of those systems. What the footage does establish is that structured circuit racing will exist as a distinct activity, complete with the basic information expected from an organised race. The circuit has already generated comparisons with Sebring International Raceway, which would make geographical sense because Leonida is Rockstar’s fictional interpretation of Florida. However, Rockstar has not licensed or confirmed Sebring, and the track visible in GTA VI does not appear to be a one-to-one recreation of the real circuit. Earlier leaked information and community mapping have associated the facility with the name Gellhorn International Raceway, but Rockstar has not officially confirmed that name either.
