The 25-ton heavy-duty truck deployed for this service is known in the parcel delivery industry as a "trunk-line truck." Unlike one-ton small trucks responsible for last-mile delivery, trunk-line trucks are the core transport vehicles that move large volumes of parcel cargo between logistics hubs. This commercial operation was pursued as part of the "Saemangeum Autonomous Commercial Vehicle Demonstration Infrastructure Project," overseen by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
