Hundreds of spectators lined the streets of downtown Brooklet Saturday morning as more than 80 entries rolled through town for the 37th Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival Parade, officially kicking off one of Bulloch County’s most beloved community traditions.
Grice Connect Founder and Publisher DeWayne Grice and Brooklet Peanut Festival committee member Ellen Perkins hosted the live broadcast, sharing information about the parade entries, festival history and the Brooklet community throughout the morning.
The Grice Connect team also took part in the parade, with the Grice Connect car driven by Sports Director Ke’Juan Humphries and Brooklet reporter Gary Roberts.
Local government leaders also joined the celebration, including Brooklet Mayor Nicky Gwinnett, the Brooklet city manager and members of the Brooklet City Council.
With more than 80 parade entries, packed sidewalks and a full day of activities, the 37th Annual Brooklet Peanut Festival once again brought together residents and visitors for a celebration of everything that makes the Brooklet community special.
