At the "Yeongnam Region Advanced Industry Development Vision National Report" meeting presided over by President Lee Jae-myung in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, on the 3rd, Hyundai Motor Group Vice Chairman Chang Jae-hoon stated, "In the Yeongnam region, we plan to invest 42 trillion won over the next 10 years not only in AI-based advanced autonomous mobility and core component manufacturing, but also in new businesses such as manufacturing AI, the aerospace industry, and energy infrastructure." At the forefront of this Yeongnam investment plan is the Ulsan electric vehicle (EV) plant, scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of this year. Hyundai Motor Group will develop this facility into an AI-based advanced autonomous vehicle (AI DV) manufacturing hub. AI DV refers to a next-generation vehicle concept where onboard AI autonomously learns from data and assesses road conditions to drive.
