Quantum computing and quantum security company Korea Quantum Computing (KQC) said on Wednesday it successfully completed a proof-of-concept (PoC) project for post-quantum cryptography (PQC)-based security technologies together with LS ITC, the IT services unit of LS Group. According to KQC, the PoC was designed to prepare for security threats posed by agentic AI-driven hacking and future quantum computers in smart infrastructure and manufacturing environments. The company said it verified the practical applicability of quantum security technologies across authentication, access control and operational management systems. KQC said the project applied PQC-based FIDO authentication keys to strengthen user login security systems within LS Group. The companies also tested a centralized secret management system for server-to-server communications to control authentication and connectivity between servers. The verification demonstrated that consistent security levels could be maintained even in distributed industrial system environments, the company said. The companies also tested a framework that automates the full process of issuing and renewing certificates. The move comes as SSL/TLS certificate validity periods continue to shorten. KQC and LS ITC said the PoC confirmed meaningful results in terms of operational feasibility and efficiency in real-world environments. "This PoC proactively verified industrial security systems in preparation for the quantum computing era," LS ITC said. "We plan to review full-scale deployment and application of the technology across key systems going forward."
